Having trouble with the golf swing basics? You are not alone. What seems to be easy enough is in actual fact very difficult. However, help is at hand. If you follow the 3 steps I'm about to reveal to you your game will improve almost overnight. Read on to find out more.

When it comes to the golf swing basics you first have to make it less complicated. The more golf swing thoughts you have the more confused you will be. Try to clear your mind and let your muscle memory take care of the swing. Practice will help your golf swing become second nature in the same way as riding a bike became when you were a child.

1) Spend as much time as possible imagining that you have a baseball bat in your hands. Swing it as if you were playing baseball - this is the swing motion you are looking for. If you can master this the game of golf will become much easier for you.

2) Forget about hitting the golf ball as far as you can. Focus more on technique and in particular your short game. The shorter shots tend to be easier to control so this is where your edge is. You can spend more time on your driver later on. Just think - if you can master the short game then when you come to putting more effort into your longer shots you could be unstoppable. This also includes putting - no point in driving 300 yards if you're going to 3 putt your way around.

3) Develop a pre-shot routine. The pros do it to help them focus and clear their mind. The fact is golf is more about how you control your emotions than actual technique. you could have the most natural golf swing in the world but if if you get too angry on the course your game can fall apart. The routine could be anything - make sure it's repeatable and helps you get rid of all the negative thoughts from your mind.

The golf swing basics are alot easier to learn when you put these 3 steps into action. The less you think about what you're doing the better. As you grow more confident you can start to add more weapons to your game.
